Students of the BA course take classes in the disciplines business studies & economics, the humanities and cultural studies.
The BA degree course takes 6 semesters to complete (including examinations) and the MA degree requires a further 4 semesters (10 in total including examinations). During the BA course students spend one semester at a university abroad, preferably at one of our partner universities.
Students of the BA must complete a six-week internship/work-placement in a non-university institution, for instance in private business, the public sector, political parties, non-government organisations (NGOs), the media and so on. These institutions should have a transnational or international character.
The BA is designed to be completed consecutively.
To help first year students to orient themselves at the Otto-von-Guericke-University of Magdeburg introductory classes are timetabled at the beginning of each winter semester.
In order to help students make choices about which classes to enrol in and which skills they need to develop information is available both in written form and as introductory talks explaining the contents of the classes being offered. Specialist advisors from the faculties and departments may be contacted for further explanations and help.
